Russian Logics and the Culture of Impossible: Part I—Recovering Intelligentsia Logics

چکیده
This article reinterprets algorithmic rationality by looking at the interaction between mathematical logic, mechanized reasoning, and, later, computing in Russian Imperial and Soviet contexts to offer a history of algorithm as object bridging inner outer worlds, humanistic vision that we, following logician Vladimir Uspensky, call “culture impossible.” We unfold deep roots this embodied scientific intelligentsia. In Part I, we examine continuities turn-of-the-twentieth-century discussions poznaniye—an epistemic orientation towards process knowledge acquisition—and postwar rise school logic. Establishing connection allows us explain, II, role disciplinary dynamics logic cybernetics characteristic understanding programming, not narrow skill, but matter consciousness.

Competing Logics and Healthcare; Comment on “(Re) Making the Procrustean Bed? Standardization and Customization as Competing Logics in Healthcare”
This paper offers a short commentary on the editorial by Mannion and Exworthy. The paper highlights the positive insights offered by their analysis into the tensions between the competing institutional logics of standardization and customization in healthcare, in part manifested in the conflict between managers and professionals, and endorses the plea of the authors for further research in this...
متن کاملEQ-logics with delta connective
In this paper we continue development of formal theory of a special class offuzzy logics, called EQ-logics. Unlike fuzzy logics being extensions of theMTL-logic in which the basic connective is implication, the basic connective inEQ-logics is equivalence. Therefore, a new algebra of truth values calledEQ-algebra was developed. This is a lower semilattice with top element endowed with two binary...
متن کاملFibred Semantics and the Weaving of Logics, Part 1: Modal and Intuitionistic Logics
This is Part 1 of a paper on fibred semantics and combination of logics. It aims to present a methodology for combiningarbitrary logical systems L, , i E I,to form a new system LI . The methodology 'fibres' the semantics 3,of Li into a semantics for L I , and 'weaves' the proof theory (axiomatics) of L, into a proof system of L I . There are various ways of doing this, we distinguish by differe...
متن کاملJustification logics and hybrid logics
Hybrid logics internalize their own semantics. Members of the newer family of justification logics internalize their own proof methodology. It is an appealing goal to combine these two ideas into a single system, and in this paper we make a start. We present a hybrid/justification version of the modal logic T. We give a semantics, a proof theory, and prove a completeness theorem. In addition, w...
متن کاملProducts of Modal Logics, Part 1
The paper studies many-dimensional modal logics corresponding to products of Kripke frames. It proves results on axiomatisability, the finite model property and decidability for product logics, by applying a rather elaborated modal logic technique: p-morphisms, the finite depth method, normal forms, filtrations. Applications to first order predicate logics are considered too. The introduction a...
